English, Drama, and Teacher Cadet
I graduated from Hector High School in 1982.
I graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2004.
I have an Associates Degree as a Medical Assistant, and a Bachelors of Art in English Education.
I started working at Hector High School in 2012. I started teaching 10th and 11th grade English as well as Drama. I am currently teaching 9th grade English, 10th Grade English, Drama, and the new Teacher Cadet program.
Before working at Hector, I taught 10th grade English and Drama at Pottsville High school for 6 years. Before my teaching career, I worked for the Arkansas Department of Health for 15 years, working as a Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice, and then as a Learning Coordinator for Bioterrorism.
I have been married to Dale Stroud for 32 years. My children are Whitney, Jonathan, and Justin, and I am expecting my first grandchild in November! I have two dogs, Scout and Gigi, and one cat, Lucky.
I love to do crafts, play the guitar, and spend time with my family. I love teaching English and Drama, and I am excited about the new Teacher Cadet program. I love the teen years, when students are coming more independent and going through many changes. I believe in building self-esteem in my students through earned successes, and will try my best to push students to achieve at their highest potential.
